What never reviewed means

Source kinds, validation dates, and honest catalogue limits.

Reviewed

What this is for

Where a row's numbers came from, and whether anybody here has checked them. The library is good enough to design against. It is not, by itself, good enough to underwrite. A row that showed only the model name would let an indicative figure be mistaken for a measured one.

Unvalidated is the honest label, not a broken row.

Steps

  1. Open the Component library. Provenance is a column on the list. On a module or inverter page it is on each characterisation; on a battery page it is the source badge under Where these figures come from. The battery list shows only whether a row is validated, so open the row for its source. A conductor has no page of its own: its source badge is on its row.

  2. The source word is which claim the numbers make:

    Badge What it means
CEC From a certification register. A register is not an independent test report.
PAN From a PVsyst PAN file - the manufacturer's own measured characterisation.
OND From a PVsyst OND file - the same, for an inverter.
Datasheet Typed from a published datasheet, not from a measured file.
Datasheet, read Read off a published datasheet by a language model and confirmed by a person.
Manufacturer Supplied directly by the manufacturer.
Standard Transcribed from a published standards table anybody can go and check.
No model No characterisation at all. Nothing can be simulated with it. Worse than unvalidated.
  3. Beside the source: Unvalidated, or Validated with a date. Unvalidated means nobody here has independently checked these numbers. Treat them as indicative. Validated is a date a person recorded against the figures that are still there.

  4. Several characterisations on one module or inverter show as N versions. A condition set chooses which one a simulation uses.

  5. A battery with no characterisation is not missing a tab. Dispatch uses the scalars as stated. The page still names the source, and where a figure was derived rather than read the notes say so. A datasheet-read battery says a misread depth of discharge or round-trip efficiency moves the autonomy figure directly.

Correcting a row always clears the checked date, because the check was a claim about figures that are no longer there. Changing a model name on a CEC row can leave it CEC; changing a Voc makes it Datasheet, or the register is credited with a number nobody certified.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Unvalidated is the normal state of the shipped catalogue. It is not a broken row.
  • Do not quote a CEC module as if a test lab signed the yield. Upload the manufacturer's PAN for a bankable characterisation, or type from the datasheet and keep the Datasheet badge.
  • A zero that was never measured is a dash on the detail, not 0.00. Unstated battery depth of discharge is the example: the page assumes a fraction for dispatch and says so. Quote the document.
  • "Never reviewed" on a tariff is the same idea on a different library: prices unchecked, last-reviewed empty. That article is under Tariffs.
