Site consumption
Annual consumption shapes used in the bill comparison.

What this is for
What the site draws. One profile, hanging off the project, read by storage (dispatch) and by financials (the meter). It is not a tab of financials and it is not a condition set. The engine is generation-only and never sees a kilowatt-hour of load. Consumption enters afterwards, so one solved year serves any number of loads, tariffs and battery scenarios.
It comes before Results on the strip, not immediately before Storage. Nothing here depends on a design or a run. A solar-only quote on a time-of-use tariff needs it exactly as much as a storage quote does.
Steps
- Open Consumption, or Edit consumption from a financial model (Set up consumption while the project has none).
- A new project has no profile. New profile creates one, and another if you need a second load.
- Built from: twelve monthly totals, an uploaded meter export, or a list of loads and when they run.
- Daily shape (twelve monthly totals only): Flat, Residential, Commercial, Industrial. It starts from the project's supply class, and the hint says whether it is still on that answer or was set by hand. Nobody having set a supply class means nothing implies a shape - set one here. The same annual consumption under two shapes produces materially different bills. The report states which was used.
- Monthly consumption. Leave a month blank and it is estimated from the ones you supplied, scaled by a seasonal shape oriented to this site's own hemisphere. An estimated month is marked, here and on the report.
0 of 12with every box at0is nothing entered, not a year that drew nothing. - Apply saves. The annual figure on the strip is what the site draws in a year.
Tips and common mistakes
- Do not fold a load profile into a condition set. That would force a new 8,760 for every bill.
- Estimated months are fine for a first quote. They are not a meter. The strip counts them under Estimated months, and each one is marked Est in the grid.
- Storage and financials must name the same profile if you want the dispatch and the bill to describe one site.
