What this is for
Your account is you. The team is the firm. Sign-in, password, passkeys and personal data live under Your account; projects, members and billing live under Team.
Steps
Create an account
- Open Create an account. The form asks for a work email and a password, then the same password again.
- The password must be at least
10characters, with upper case, lower case and a digit. - Code is optional and almost nobody has one. It is for a code given out at an event or by a partner, and it puts the new team on the plan that code carries. A link that carries a code fills the box for you. A code that is wrong, spent or expired costs nothing: the account is still created and still gets the standard trial.
- Every new account starts on a free trial, with no card. The page says which plan the trial runs on and for how many days. When it runs out the team keeps everything it has made and can still sign in, but creating a project, running a simulation and generating a proposal all need a plan from then on.
- Tick I agree to the terms of use and the privacy policy. The box starts empty and the form will not send without it. The version of the terms you are agreeing to is named under the form, and the account records that version.
- On some deployments the product is still holding new accounts. The register page says so before you submit. Your account is created, then you wait to be let in rather than being signed in on the spot. There is nothing to retry on Sign in until that happens. The trial does not start while you wait - its days begin when the account is let in.
- On a deployment that asks you to confirm your address, Create account sends a confirmation link instead of signing you in. Follow it, then sign in. Resend email confirmation appears under Sign in only on those deployments. If the next page says the confirmation message could not be sent, the account is made all the same: ask for the link again from Resend email confirmation in a few minutes, rather than registering again.
If the address already has an account, the form says so once and creates nothing. Sign in instead, or reset the password from Sign in.
If self-registration is closed, the form is replaced by a notice to ask an administrator.
- Open Sign in. Enter the work email and the password.
- Remember me keeps the session across browser restarts.
- Sign in with a passkey is the other door, if you have registered one under Your account.
- Sign out sits next to your name in the top bar. It is a submit, not a link.
- If the page says the account has been deactivated, the password was right and the account has been switched off. Nothing in it has been deleted. Ask through the contact page for it to be switched back on.
- After several wrong passwords from one place, the form adds "Protected by reCAPTCHA" under the button and the next try is checked by it - there is still nothing to tick. Where this deployment does not use reCAPTCHA, after many wrong passwords it refuses for a few minutes instead and says so. That limit is on the place, not your account.
- If the page says it had gone out of date, it was open from before you signed in or out in another tab. Nothing was sent; it has been reloaded, so try again.
Reset a password
- From Sign in, open Forgot your password?
- Enter the address you sign in with and send the reset link.
- If that address has an account and this installation can send mail, a link is on its way. The confirmation is the same whether the address exists, so a guess learns nothing.
- If email delivery is not configured, the next screen says so: nothing was sent, and waiting will not help.
- Asking several times over will be refused for a few minutes, and the screen says so. The limit is on how often the form is sent from one place, not on your account, so the first link you asked for is still good.
- The link opens Choose a new password. Enter the same address the link was sent to. If the page says the link does not work for this address, check the address, or ask for a new link - each link works once and expires.
Your account
Your name in the top bar opens Your account. It is yours whatever role you hold on the team - a Viewer manages their own account here like anybody else.
- Email is the sign-in address. Changing it is a confirmation flow: the link goes to the new address, and once it is followed the old address gets a message saying the account has moved. If this installation cannot send mail, the Email page says so instead of promising a link that will never arrive; if a message cannot go out just now, it says nothing has changed and to try again in a few minutes.
- Two-factor authentication is an extra challenge at sign-in. Recovery codes are the way back in if the device is lost. Zero codes left is a lock-out with no administrator back door - print them when you turn it on.
- Passkeys are the other sign-in door. Register one here, then Sign in with a passkey on the login page.
- Personal data is what the account holds about you. Download is a copy of that. Close my account is permanent. The firm's projects come out through Team, under Your data - that is a different export.
Repeated failed sign-ins lock the account for a short time, then it unlocks on its own. Wait; do not keep retrying. A password reset through the mailed link ends the lock at once.
Tips and common mistakes
- The sign-in name is the work email, not a separate username.
- With both name fields blank, the product shows the first part of the address. That is what appears on audit entries and in the top bar.
- Team invitations are not this screen. An invitation lands on Join a team after you already have an account.
- Where this deployment uses reCAPTCHA, the register, reset and resend forms say "Protected by reCAPTCHA" under the button. There is nothing to tick, but a script blocker stops the form being sent - allow it and reload.
- Several registrations from one place in a short time are refused for a few minutes. A password that misses the rules does not count towards that; an address that is already registered does.
