Terms of use
These terms govern use of ArrayTrace, operated by ArrayTrace (Pty) Ltd. By creating an account you agree to them. They are read with our privacy policy.
1. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your credentials to yourself. Tell us at info@arraytrace.co.za if you think somebody else has access to it. Accounts are personal: two people sharing one is how a change ends up attributed to whoever was not at the keyboard.
2. Teams, and who owns what
A project belongs to the team, not to the person who created it. Removing somebody from a team leaves their projects with the team, which is deliberate - work done for a firm's client stays with the firm. A team's owner can erase the whole team, and that is the one action in the product that destroys rather than archives.
3. Your data is yours
Projects, designs and the documents you generate belong to you. We process them to run the service and for no other purpose; we do not sell them and we do not train models on them. You can export them in full, and you can delete them.
4. What a simulation is, and is not
ArrayTrace produces modelled estimates from the design you draw, the components you select and the weather data you choose. Every model carries uncertainty, and real production depends on installation quality, maintenance, grid availability and the weather that actually occurs. A modelled figure is an engineering estimate, not a guarantee of output, and it does not replace a professional engineer's sign-off where one is required.
Concretely, and because a customer signing a document deserves to know it:
- The engine is validated for internal consistency and against published algorithms. It has not been calibrated against a measured year at a reference site.
- Component figures come from manufacturer datasheets and certification registers. They are what the manufacturer publishes, not what we have measured, and the product labels every one with where it came from and whether anybody has checked it.
- Tariff schedules and interruption schedules shipped with the product are curated reference data with an effective date. Where a figure has not been checked against a published source the product says so on the row rather than implying it has.
Verifying a figure against the actual tariff, the actual hardware and the actual connection conditions before it reaches a client is your responsibility.
5. Documents you produce
Proposals, reports and connection applications are generated from your inputs and issued under your name and branding. You are the author of anything you send a client. A generated proposal freezes the figures it was built from so it renders identically forever; re-running a simulation afterwards does not change a document somebody is already holding.
6. Compliance remains yours
We generate SSEG paperwork against NRS 097-2-1 / NRS 097-2-3 and flag design conditions that appear to breach a threshold. Those are aids, not a certification. Responsibility for meeting NRS 097-2-1 / NRS 097-2-3, SANS 10142-1 and any network or municipal requirement stays with the installer and the registered person who signs the installation off.
7. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to reach another team's data, probe the service for weaknesses without our written agreement, scrape the component or tariff libraries wholesale, or resell access. If you find a security problem, tell us at info@arraytrace.co.za before telling anybody else, and we will not pursue you for having found it.
8. Plans and payment
Plan limits are enforced as the plan describes them, and a refusal because a limit is reached is the feature working rather than a fault. Prices are shown and billed in ZAR; where a second currency appears it is for orientation only and is never what is charged. Cancelling stops future billing and does not refund what has already been taken - ask us and we will deal with it case by case.
9. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for lost profit, lost business or the consequences of a commercial decision taken on a modelled figure - see section 4 for exactly what a modelled figure is. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available and will give reasonable notice of planned interruption. We may change these terms; material changes will be notified to the email address on your account before they take effect.
